    8. Snow day, 30 minutes too late.
    Ted had pulled an all nighter preparing for his 400-level math class at the University of Illinois. A blizzard was roaring through, and my 22-year old son waded through the Siberian snowstorm at 7:45 AM to take the 8:30 AM test. Afterwards, he found the campus was vacant. The university had declared its first snow day in 30 years while he was taking the test at 9 AM. Everyone else got the day off. Back to top Yours,
