    3. Book Review: The Essential Little Book of Great Lawyering by James A. Durham
This new book/pamphlet is dangerous because some of it is based on marketing common sense, courtesy and experience, e.g., knowing and being responsive to your client’s business. According to reviewer Bernadine Bednarz, it’s also dangerous because it can be quickly read; so execution becomes the issue. And it’s only 53 pages. Back to top

    4. Getting Off on the Right Foot with In-House Counsel
Lawyer Patrick J. Kelly listened in on an ACC Web seminar where in-house counsel discussed setting budgets, tracking projects, handling changes to plans, compensating law firms, and dealing with law firm fee increases. It's like being a fly on the wall where your clients are talking about your firm. Back to top
    5. Please release me: What the media looks for in a law firm press release

    9. Academic fervor
I couldn't believe my ears. Ted, my college-junior son said he wants to graduate with a double degree. And on top of that, they would be in the witheringly difficult disciplines of Finance and Actuarial Science. This is coming from a kid who in middle school laughed about filing "econo-papers." What's more, he will have to stay in school an extra semester to get all the classwork in. My frat boy plans to join the intelligentsia! I'm in delighted disbelief. Back to top
