One of the top law firms in the world with a very dynamic culture is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for their Orange County office. The successful candidate contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of business development goals and objectives for the office. Responsibilities for Business Development Manager:
- Initiate, develop and provide hands-on support for local business development plans, programs and budgets.
- Manage local conferences, sponsorships, seminars, speaking engagements and events. Work with attorneys to identify and develop topics of interest for local and global markets.
- Manage public relations, article placement, attorney publications, directory submissions and deal note generation in collaboration with Global PR team.
- Identify publications, organizations and events where attorneys can be featured.
- Cultivate new and enhance existing client relationships.
- Assist with the coordination and management of cross-selling programs.
- The Business Development Manager will support attorneys in preparation of client presentation materials, RFPs and new business proposals.
- Conduct and manage research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition and conflicts via firm-wide resources, online databases, and librarian searches. Prepare background information on prospects.
- Identify professional organizations, industry associations, educational institutions and clients to identify leadership positions, speaking opportunities and sources of referral.
- The Business Development Manager will mentor and supervise Business Development Coordinator.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- At least five to seven years relevant experience in a legal or professional services marketing position and three years prior supervisory experience is desired.
- The Business Development Manager must have strong strategic business development focus with knowledge of core marketing principles including internal communications, public relations, seminar/event planning, branding, market research, competitive intelligence, credentials and RFP response preparation.
- Candidate must have excellent leadership skills; communications skills (oral and written); strong organizational skills; advanced skills with PC applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel - InterAction is a plus.
